Ted and Jack Higgins competed in the World Continental Tour Meeting, at Szczecin, Poland on Wednesday, with both coming away with competitive performances.
Jack Higgins finished 5th over 800 metres in 1.45.49, whilst Ted Higgins finished 4th in the 1500 metres in 3.34.89. The latter was a personal best by 1.8 seconds and moved him to second on the Tonbridge AC all-time 1500 metres rankings behind James West’s 3.34.07. The time ranks Higgins 9th on the UK rankings for 2026 and is the 38th fastest time ever by a Brit.
Jack has two more races to come in September, whilst Ted has completed his track season.
On Monday, Tom Daly competed at the Stratford Speed Meeting in the 400 metres and 200 metres. He improved his personal bests to 47.71 and 22.15, with the 400m time taking him to 6th on the Tonbridge all-time rankings, which is up two places. It means that the club’s 400 metres squad have set five of the fastest six times ever just this season.
Also on Bank Holiday Monday, Tonbridge AC hosted their annual Open Meeting, at Tonbridge School Track. Full results can be found here –
