Alexander Stadium saw the return of the National Relay Championships for the first time in 40 years. Tonbridge Athletic Club took one team to contest the 4×300 boys U15 relay. Having broken the club record twice this season there was great expectations of what they could achieve.
The team consisted of Lucas Bowen, Harry Wrigley, Sam Foster, Sebby Reynolds and Steven Galliard as reserve.
It was a tightly contested race seeing 7 of the 9 teams finish in under 2:40.00 with three contenders emerging throughout the legs for the top spots Tonbridge, Team Dorset (a composite of three Dorset clubs) and Blackheath & Bromley. Lucas Bowen had a tightly contested first leg passing the baton to Harry Wrigley just behind Team Dorset. Harry ran a steady 2nd leg moving into the lead to pass to Sam Foster who maintained the lead but still with 2 other teams in contention. Sebby Reynolds ran the anchor leg but was unfortunately overhauled in the last 40 meters to finish in the Bronze medal position.
It was the fastest the team have run all season taking a further 2.5 seconds off the club record to finish in 2:35.09 and place them 9th on the All Time list.
