Coronavirus Update – 12 June 2020 (2)

Letter from James Taylor (acting chair) to all members and athletes

Dear Member,

I am sorry to write to you so soon after my previous message of earlier today.

Regretfully, following reports of non-compliance of agreed rules by some users, Tonbridge School have withdrawn TAC’s use of the lower fields

DO NOT USE THE LOWER FIELDS FOR TRAINING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Furthermore our use of the track is subject to stringent rules as detailed in the attached notice. All members should read the attached rules carefully. (see below)

Main points are as follows:

– Coached athletes only
– Limited lanes in use
– U18s accompanied by parent/guardian
– Sports centre and pavilion remain closed
– Active social distancing needed at all times

On a positive note, we have access to the track for a wide range of times, 7 days a week, so there should be plenty of opportunity for members to access the track, but it is essential that you liaise directly with your coach as we have a strict rota – do not just turn up.

Once again I am sorry to write in this manner and I hope I can share news of increased facility use soon. I must emphasise, however, that this will largely depend on our ability to follow the clear instructions from the School as outlined in this message.

Best wishes

James Taylor

Chairman (Acting)

  1. Hi,
My sons pole vault group (5 athletes and a coach) are desperately trying to find somewhere to train. Happy to pay for the use of your facilities. Please let me know if this is an option.
    Many thanks
    Ali
