Bromley Twilight Invitational Meeting, Friday 21st August
Two Tonbridge AC club records broken
A number of TAC distance runners raced in this invitation meeting, organised by Mark Hookway, with plenty of help from some TAC and Blackheath volunteers.
Conditions at Bromley were not as bad as we thought they might be and there were some top class performances, from many internationals.
Amongst them were James West and Nicole Taylor. Nicole shaved 0.23s from her own TAC record with 9.12.18 to finish 3rd in the women’s A race. Then James, in the final race of the night, produced a 7.43.29 clocking to just be pipped on the line by Marc Scott. James’ time was 3.9s better than his indoor best and was inside Mark Scrutton’s previous club record outdoors. The top four in the race went 1,2,3,4 on the World outdoor rankings for 2020, at the time of writing.
800m – Sean Molloy 1.50.28, Ben Murphy 1.51.06, Kieran Eland 1.59.30
1500m – Kieran Reilly 3.53.46, Miles Weatherseed 3.54.84

Milton Keynes 5km road races, Friday 21st August
Ben Cole ran 14.54 and won ‘Wave E’, whilst Steve Strange recorded a pb of 14.57 in ‘Wave C’ having never broken 16 minutes before.
The wave system was used, setting off runners in small groups, using chip timing. This was in order to abide by the current guidelines in place.

Blackheath and Bromley Open Meeting, Saturday 22nd August
There were three TAC athletes in action as follows –
100m Elicia Lacey (u13) 14.07
300m Issy Fassnidge (u17) 43.09, which was a pb
400m Rebekah O’Brien (u20) 58.09, which was pb by 0.2s

Best Fit Today Track Academy Open Meeting, at Dagenham, Sunday 23rd August – Report by Sam Beasty
A number of Tonbridge athletes were in action in Dagenham on Sunday. In favourable wind conditions, there were some excellent performances.
In the 100m, Dan Gill (SEN) in his first outing of the season recorded an 11.00 pb in his second race, having earlier recorded a superb 10.83 (w 3.3). Issy Thorn (U17) achieved a 13.30 pb in her first race and was able to go faster in her second race with an excellent 13.25 pb. Lucy Tallon (U15 and currently ranked 6 in the UK for her age group) continued her rich vein of form, setting wind assisted pb times of 12.50 (w2.2) and 12.49 (w2.2) to improve on her recent 12.60. Mark McAllister (V45) ran well in both of his races, winning his second with a seasons best 12.05 (w 3.7).
Zac Beasty (U17) ran his first 400m of the season, taking 1.5 seconds off his existing pb to record a time of 52.51.
In the 800m, with a time of 2:07:17, Joshua Prendergast (U15) made almost a 6 second improvement to his previous best time which he set at last season’s Tonbridge Twilight meeting.
