A few Tonbridge AC athletes have been in action over the past week, as more competitions start to take place.

London inter Club Challenge Meeting, at Lee Valley, Saturday and Sunday 15th/16th August

On Saturday, Lucy Tallon (u15) won her 200m race in 25.97, which was her first sub 26 second run. Earlier in the week she had run personal bests at Worthing of 12.60 and 26.10 seconds over 100m and 200m, respectively.

Tom Daly (u15) ran 27.58  and Issy Thorn (u17) 28.03, over 200 metres, the latter being a personal best by 0.47s.

On Sunday, the under 20s and seniors were competing, with Rebekah O’Brien (u20) recording 64.93 for 400m hurdles, which was less than a second away from the club age group record.

Lewis Collins (senior) opened his season with a 22.65 clocking over 200 metres.

In the field Kirst-Anne Ebbage (u20) threw the Hammer 40.81 metres, which is less than a metre away from her own club record, set last year.

Loughborough August Invitational, Sunday 16th August

Kieran Reilly  (senior) finished 2nd in his 800 metres, when returning to his old university. In what was his opening track race of the Summer he recorded 1.53.61.


Memorial Wiestawa Maniaka, Szczecin, Poland, , Sunday 16th August

Anton Bachorski (u20) finished 5th in the 100 metres in 10.95 and 4th in the 200 metres in 22.21. These were both just outside his personal bests and were his first races of the season.

Friday 21st August, Bromley Twilight Meeting

A number of Tonbridge distance runners are due to compete on Friday evening.
