The Winter Season – A Quick Guide!
Details of training sessions are shown here. There are a number of coaches and helpers available, but we could always do with one or two more. Training sessions are held at the track on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The key date is midnight on the 31st August. Anyone in
school years 7 and 8 compete in the Under 13 age group, years 9 and 10 at under
15 and years 11 and 12 at under 17, during the Winter. In other words you
compete in the same age group that you were in during the previous Summer.
To compete at Under 13 level in the Winter you must be 11 years old at least on the day of the race.
For acceptance into the club for training an athlete must be a minimum of 9 years old.
Once a month from October to March the club promotes cross country races for boys and girls under 12 years of age over 1 mile. There are medals for all finishers.
is the Winter Team Manager for Cross Country, all ages under 13 upwards. There are races in the Kent League for boys and girls of all age groups,
from under 13 upwards.
The Kent County Championships are held in January, again for all age groups, but contact the Team Manager for entry in early December. The South of England Championships are held in late January, with entries in by late December. The National Cross Country Championships are held in March.
Club vests, hooded tops, T-shirts and tracksuits are available from me or by contacting . Club vests must be worn for league and championship competition.
